Deep Tissue Massage Therapy

Deep tissue massage therapy is one of the most popular types of massage around these days. Massage therapy benefits your body by increasing the circulation of blood and lymph, loosening muscle tissue, and increasing the production of feel good hormones.

This type of therapy is good for dealing with issues of chronic pain. It can be used to break up adhesions deep in the muscle tissue and fascia. If you're experiencing back, neck or any other commonly experienced muscle pain this type of therapy can help you.

You don't have to go to a therapist that specially advertises deep tissue work to get a deep massage. Many different bodywork modalities include working deep underlying layers of muscle. Here are just a few of them:

  • Neuormuscular Therapy
  • Pfrimmer Deep Tissue
  • Rolfing
  • Trigger Point Therapy
  • Bonnie Prudden Myotherapy
  • Deep Connective Tissue Massage
  • Fijian Massage
  • Indonesian Massage
  • Kalari Massage
  • LooyenWork
  • Sports Massage
  • Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy

Don't think your therapy session has to be painful if you get one of these types of deep tissue therapy. Deep massage doesn't have to hurt. Your therapist should work with you to give you a therapy session that will give you the full benefits of massage and help you heal without being overly painful.

Be sure to get treated by a therapist who has been properly trained in certified. Don't attempt deep tissue techniques on someone else without proper training. Deep work can cause damage if you don't know what you're doing.
