Self-Massage You can Feel the Benefits of Massage Daily
Self-massage is a great way to bring the benefits of massage therapy home with you. You can massage yourself whenever and where ever you want. You can use massage techniques to get rid of muscle soreness and stiffness and even chase away headaches.
As a massage therapist I started teaching my clients techniques they could do at home early in my career. It all started when I explained a simple positional release technique to a client with recurrent back pain. I explained a simple release she could do at home using a chair. At her next monthly appointment she was delighted to tell me that she had followed my advice and it had worked for her.
This experience helped me to realize that there are simple techniques people can use at home to bring the benefits of massage into their lives. Massage can improve your health in a variety of ways. Here are just a few:
- lowers blood pressure
- increases circulation
- relieves sore muscles
- speeds healing and recovery times
- increases flexibility
- improves skin health
- decreases the appearance of cellulite

I usually massage myself first thing in the morning before my shower, but depending on the type of massage you like you can give yourself a therapeutic massage whenever you want. As you work this massage into your daily schedule you'll notice an improvement in your health and appearance.
As I studied types of bodywork you can do on yourself I found three types that have been practiced over a number of years.
- Dry skin brushing - stimulates and detoxifies the skin
- Abhyanga - an ancient for of Ayurvedic massage
- Do-in - a traditional Chinese therapy
Each is different and unique. I decided to write an ebook about these therapies to help others learn about them. If your interested in learning more about how to massage yourself download this free ebook.
