Chair Massage
Seated Massage Anywhere

Chair massage is a relaxing type of massage that re-energizes tired muscles and eases aches and pains.

What makes this seated massage unique? On-site massage is convienient, fast, effective and is a perfect introduction to massage.

When you get an on-site massage in a massage chair you stay fully clothed. The therapist uses no oils or lotions. Most massages last about 15 minutes, but you can get massages as short as a few minutes long. Most therapists use a combination of shiatsu and Swedish style massage techniques.

The thing that makes it most convenient is that the therapist can do quick massages at offices, stores, festivals or any place you can imagine. It is especially popular in offices because you can take a 15 minute break from work and get a massage that will help you feel renewed and re-energized enabling you to work more efficiently.

This type of massage has the same benefits that most other massage therapies do including increases circulation and the flow of lymph, but it's associated with these specific benefits:

  • tense muscles
  • back pain
  • shoulder pain
  • neck pain
  • tension headaches
  • stress
  • fatigue

When I was still actively practicing massage, I used to give massages at health fairs. People always enjoyed the therapy a lot. My use of my massage chair wasn't limited to these events though. Occasionally, I would use my chair for people who would have too much difficulty laying on a table. Experiencing seated massage doesn't have to be limited to special events. A few of my elderly clients perferred using the chair to the table. If you want to get a seated massage but feel like you can't lay on a table, ask at your local massage clinic to see if they will allow you to get a chair massage at the clinic.

This type of massage usually costs about $1 per minute. That means that if you just want a simple 5 minutes massage you'll only pay $5. These prices make massage affordable for anyone. It can be a good introduction for people who want to try a massage, but aren't sure about getting undressed and lying down on a massage table.

So the next time you see a massage therapist with a chair set up somewhere give it a try. You might become addicted.
