There are many companies making quality products these days. Classic massage manufactures like Oakworks and Earthlite now compete with newer companies to sell their merchandise to therapists. I have to admit before I go any further that I have a bit of a bias for Earthlite and Oakworks products. I've always owned their tables and chairs. Even in other people's clinics I usually see Oatworks and Earthlite tables. On this page I'm reviewing mostly Earthlite products and only one Stronglite table. Okay, here goes.

Earthlite - Luna Massage Table

I like this light-weight, durable table with an aluminum table. In my opinion it is one of the best massage tables. I prefer aluminum frames because they are lighter than wood framed tables. If you are going to be moving your table a lot I think you should definitely go for an aluminium frame. The aluminum frame also makes it better for working outdoors than standard wooden framed tables because if it is damp outside it won't affect the aluminum.

This table is designed to be used for standard massages or reiki. Tables that can be used for reiki are designed so that when you're sitting on a stool you can sit with your knees under the table while you work on your client.

The Luna is easy to fold-up and carry and can hold up to 750 lbs working weight. The dimensions of the table are 30 x 73. Its legs can be adjusted to between 24 to 34 inches. The Luna is covered in a Earthlite's comfortable 2.25" Pro-Lite Deluxe cushioning. Depending on the width you buy and the thickness of the padding you get, it can weigh from 26 to 29 lbs.

Earthlite - Avalon XD

If you're looking for something a bit cheaper, try the Earthlite Avalon. I know, I know again with the Earthlite, but trust me this is a good table. Like I said before I think Earthlite and Oakworks makes some of the best massage tables.

The Avalon is a wooden table made of maple hardwood and Russian birch decking. Wooden framed tables tend to be heavier than aluminum ones. The Avalon weights roughly 34 lbs compared to the 26 lbs of the Luna. The weight difference between the two tables may not seem like a lot on paper, but trust me when you're lugging that thing around and getting it in and out of your car it's a big difference.

Wooden tables are quite a bit prettier than aluminium tables tough. If you're just planning to leave the table in your office and not carry it all around town this is a good choice. Heck, it's a good choice for traveling too if you don't mind the extra weight. It will help build your biceps.

The Avalon is 30" wide and 73" long. The adjustable height is between 23" to 33". It has a maximum working weight of 500 lbs. It is sturdy and comfortable.

I find that Earthlite chairs and tables are quite easy to set up and take down. They are also easy to transport. I had to borrow a friend's table once, I can't remember the brand name of it, but it was so hard to set up that I couldn't put it up on my own. It's so embarrassing to have to ask your client to help you set up your table. That's way you want something that is easy to set up.

Just as with the Luna there is a lifetime warranty on the wooden frame and 3 year warranty on the vinyl and padding. This is a good quality table for a cheaper price than the Luna. Stronglite - Classic Deluxe Massage Table

You might want to consider this Stronglite table package. It is a strong table--hence the name;)--made from English Beech hardwood. This wooden framed table weighs 35 lbs making it the heaviest table on this page but not by enough to really matter.

The Classic Deluxe table is 30 inches wide and 73 inches long. This table is extremely strong and can handle up to 800 lbs working weight. That's a plus for the Stronglite brand. I find that on average their tables are made to carry more weight than other tables. If you are in an area with a lot of very heavy people this might be an important thing for you to consider.

This table comes in a package that includes an adjustable face cradle and carrying case. It also has Reiki endplates and a Shiatsu option. This table is easy to use, strong and definitely is a good choice. Stronglite gives a lifetime warranty on the table frame with a 3 year warranty on the padding and vinyl. I've never had to deal with Stronglite for honoring their warranty so I can't really say anything about their customer service in that regard. The Classic Deluxe is a great deal.
